Password Protected Directories in Cloud Hosting
Setting up a password-protected area shall take just a few clicks and a few seconds if you host your websites within a cloud hosting account with our company. You will not need to do anything complicated - you will have to select a domain/subdomain, to select which folder under it must be protected, and then to type the login name and password that will be used to access that folder. When a number of people need their own login credentials, there won't be a problem to create a variety of different usernames with access to the same folder. All secured folders shall appear with a padlock icon in the File Manager section, so you will always know where this option is active. If you'd like to turn off the protection function for any folder, you can disable it from the exact same section of the CP where you have enabled it.
Password Protected Directories in Semi-dedicated Hosting
It will require a few mouse clicks to turn on the password protection function for any folder which you have, when you use one of our Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages. We have an incredibly handy tool, that has a user-friendly point-and-click interface and which can be used by people with zero experience. It is a part of the Hepsia Control Panel, which you will get to manage your new account and once you log in and navigate to the Password Protection section, you shall be able to choose the domain or subdomain which needs to be secured and then the exact folder - either the main folder or any subfolder under it. You shall also see two boxes in which you will need to type the login name and the password which will be needed to access the folder in question and you will be all set. By following precisely the same steps, you can create many different login credentials for the exact same folder to give several people their own username/password. All protected folders will feature a small padlock sign in the File Manager section.
